I’m not only your big fan, but also the proudest mother on earth. I read your words with the eyes of a critical reader - my comparative literature degree is old, but a leopard can’t change its spots - and what I see is a text full of life and a very promising voice.
It's weird how right when we need something we cross it. I needed to read this today and tomorrow and yesterday. It's an unsettling feeling being in limbo. In striving but feeling not yet there especially when the world around me seems to be entering different stages. But also, being okay with that because right now, I feel free and like I'm walking into something great. Feeling behind and feeling like I'm right where I am supposed to be is an exhausting tug a war. It nice to know that I am not alone. That others souls all over is experiencing if not the same thing, something similar. And that is the beauty in what you do. Your words finds relatability in someone's mind/heart. Congrats on 1 year of a well deserved byline!
Deavon thank you so much, the best thing that has come from writing has been the reassurance that you are never the only person going through something. Honestly, I’m setting up camp in limbo because I’ve been here a while, but here’s to hoping things work out for both of us!
Me and you both. I might just have to set up my tent beside yours. But things are going to work out for us both. I'm speaking it into the universe and I can't wait to continue to read your work as all things continue to unfold.
Julia, this was incredible. I went to save the post to read when I had more time, but found I couldn't pull my eyes away. This is so incredibly honest and relatable and SHINES with talent. Your!! Talent!! Such a pleasure to read as always
Julia! I love this so much!! Reflects a lot of the thoughts I've been having, especially around not feeling like a "serious writer" but realising my age is starting to look quite serious lol! And the line about the Keats volunteering took me out :') good luck with the job hunt and with future bylines xx
Sophie thank you so much!! Always nice to know I’m not the only one with these neuroses, and you know the job market is dire when you consider praying for the downfall of Hampstead grandmas so you can land a volunteering position
